Wow- my last post here was in July. Well that figures.
In July, I was in the second month of my second pregnancy and the monster named Narcolepsy had kidnapped me, dragged me off to his lair and held me captive to spur of the moment naps for about 3 months. It is amazing how quickly the big ol sleepy monster can spring at you from around a corner. As a side note – waking up in a puddle of drool at the kitchen table is really not pleasant.
To bring you up to speed, we are now about 6 months in and I have been feeling like a human again for about 4 weeks – during which time I started the war to get back on schedule with life. That meant cleaning out about 3 months worth of household clutter, reconnecting with the outside world, at first through Facebook and gradually through twitter. I also had to retrain myself into a studio schedule and get over a month of making nothing but crappy art. Making crappy art does not make me want to run into my studio. It makes me want to eat chocolate chip cookies on the couch while watching Hell’s Kitchen. (Hello, pregnancy!)
So now, I’m at the point where I have been missing writing things that are longer than 140 characters and I think I might have some valueable things to say. And I am looking forward to being back here with you.
Here’s my master plan – one post a week – but something really good. Maybe a combination of shots of my studio work in progress, some tricks for using art to make your space more like those fancy home decor magazines, and I’ll probably link to some of the yummiest holiday treats I can find. (For some strange reason I have been baking up a storm :0) so you may as well benefit from it. If you can’t come visit, links to quick and easy and fantastic things are the next best thing). I also have been working on some really fun winter holiday designs and I can’t wait to show them to you! Not your candy cane colours and traditional flora and fauna either. Think ethereal women and you are on the right track. Gotta get the first set photographed and a way we go!
One response to “What Happened to You?”
Don’t put TOO much pressure on your self, darling. You ARE growing a human inside you. Arms and legs and stuff. Plus chasing after another human that you’ve already grown inside you.
Congratulations, by the way!
