ACEO sized paintings of four colourful women.

What is an ACEO?

The quick answer to that question is that they are tiny trading card sized paintings or editions (prints). The only real rule I’ve found is that they need to be 2 1/5 x 3 1/2 inches in size.

They are really really cool.

And a super affordable way to start a collection of original art.

Artists who create these little works of art have been on my radar for the last couple of years – like the daily painters.  I never thought I’d be able to count myself in the ranks of daily painters – after all who has the time?  But in Novemeber last year I jumped in to the life of a daily painter for 30 days and since then I haven’t really looked back. I paint every day now.

After confronting one challenge head on and really enjoying it I thought “why not give ACEOs a try?”

These ladies are my first attempts. I really like how they turned out –  and one of them has already found a new home.

What’s out there that you’ve been thinking of trying?  Why are you hesitating? Go do it. What’s the worst that could happen?
