Inspiration can strike anywhere, even on Michigan Avenue in Chicago on an August afternoon. It doesn’t hurt to have a camera on your phone for moments like this.
This is a real couple – a real live vintage-y couple. And for a moment they were the most important and interesting people on the street. To me at least! They looked so relaxed and happy together, I knew I’d have to paint them when I got home. And although it took me a little while to get to them, I did and I may revisit them in the future.
And the title… it came about because something about them reminded me vaguely of Singing in the Rain. : )
