I debated titling this “The Collector” and maybe it will be an alternate title. Kids are fascinated with “COLLECTING” things and “COLLECTIONS”. “Don’t throw that out, Mom! It’s part of my collection!”
I think it is less about having and more about finding that hidden treasure in the grass.
I’m still working at letting things sit and not nitpicking a painting to death. I have discovered that a camera is a wonderful tool for showing the areas that are and aren’t working. I don’t exactly know why that works – except that maybe it forces more distance and I have to look at the painting as a whole instead of the places I’ve been focusing on.
