I read about this technique for getting a weathered paint look awhile ago, and decide it was high time to use it.

Here’s what you need:
- Vaseline or petroleum jelly
- Acrylic Paint
It’s not a long list, but it’s fun.
Spread the Vaseline thickly over the parts of the painting you want to save. Then paint over the whole painting with acrylic paint.
The paint won’t completely dry because of the Vaseline, but when it looks dry-ish, wipe the surface of the painting with paper towels. Where ever you put on Vaseline the paint will peel off, revealing the layers underneath.

I’m going to have to try that!
I hope you do 🙂 It is a little bit messy, but I think it worked well. The photo is of my first time ever trying that technique.
