Day One: Theme One: Flowers
As I was painting these Sunflowers I thought about why I am doing this. Why do so many paintings in such a concentrated time period.
Here’s what I am hoping.
1. That the daily practice will boost my skills and challenge my thinking – necessity may also be the mother of creativity. Let’s find out.
2. I want to develop more confidence with my brush. I want to capture the shape of things with the simplest mark, so that my work will be fresher and more spontaneous.
In the spirit of opening up and avoiding nit picking here is today’s painting. I can’t wait to see what I feel like tomorrow – it will be a flower to stay in the theme but that it the only rule I’ll be playing by.
Sunflowers is Acrylic on Illustration Board, 6 inches by 5 inches. All rights are held by me – the artist.
Enjoy!
PS if you want to tweet about this – may I suggest #100in100 ?
