For the last two days I have been recycling painting surfaces – painting over unsuccessful paintings. Usually I face the blank white canvas – but it is a whole other animal when you deal with backgrounds that at some point you have decided you don’t like!
In the end I almost completely covered the original brown-y-orange mess that once was on this watercolour paper. But it is an interesting challenge to work with a dark background and find the light in it.
